F++. THE SHOULDER COVERED WITH DELICATE SPIKES. From the late Peter Clarkson, a very nice piece. You have to be an expert and spend a lot of time in the sea to find "unencrusted" angaria. Peter could do that, and he was the man who provided us with the majority of the Tyria now found in collections. This one is a better than average specimen, as most Tyria do not have spines. The present shell has a carena that is covered with several short spines that become larger and larger towards the opening. Angaria tyria is endemic to Australian waters. The tyria is now rarer than ever.
