| Note | MAGNIFICENT TWO PAPER LIGHT ARGONAUTS. These are two rare pieces from Madagascar that are extremely moulded. The "gondola" was already described by Dillwyn in 1817. This shape has two wide open "corners" on both sides of the navel. This "gondola" can be seen here at the top left. The typical Hians can be seen at the bottom right and is somewhat smaller. It is rare for Argonauta hians to come from the East African coasts. While the lower right specimen, the typical form, is quite identical to what you get in the Philippines, both specimens are nevertheless characterised by the special "yellowish" colouration. The upper left specimen is never found in this form in the Philippines. It is a particularly beautiful specimen, with the dorsal buttons widely spaced and arranged in a brilliant "moving" shape. A must and a very rare opportunity for those who specialise in these wonderful species with the very romantic name "Argonauts".
