Note | Jeaniana found on the western side of Bernier Island are highly prized as they are large, have high cream margins and are visually stunning. This specimen was collected in May 2024 from 76 metres of water west of the southern end of Bernier Island off Shark Bay. The shell has a pretty dark dorsum with a strong mantle line. At some point it has been bitten by a fish and resulting in chips to both siphons. Subsequently the animal has covered the injuries with a generous coating of additional nacre making the injuries natural defects. Lateral photos available on request. Pretty shell. |
