Item | # 0003365211 |
Family | Buccinidae |
Name | Busycoarctum coarctatum - LIVE COLLECTED , (G. B. Sowerby I, 1825) |
Size | 90.84 mm, w/o |
Locality | Celestún, Yucatan, Mexico |
Note | This beautiful specimen is part of a batch of 2 shells that were brought to us alive by a local fisherman last month, these two shells are the first live-collected specimens we have ever had of this species.
This is the shallow water form of the species, a form that’s not offered as often as the ones from deep water, much less live-collected, so this is a very good opportunity to get a Yucatan-endemic shell that’s not too often seen.
The colors are amazingly beautiful, I had never seen a prettier specimen than this one, truly a real treasure. Condition is F+++.
Full data will be provided in a data tag with the shell. |
