Extremely rare species, known only from around 10 specimens. This very specimen comes from the collection of Paolo Mel, from where the species takes its name. The specimen has the original label and it belong to the study material from the original description. Huge size and never found again after its discovery in 1989. So, this is probably the only time you can get this specimen to complete your Pectinidae collection. |
