FROM VERY OLD PHILLIPINE STOCK. A Casmaria collected before World War II. This is definitely a true Erinaceus with a slight shoulder, a thickened lip with a great pattern of interrupted black spots and real “teeth” on the lower part. Very large and therefore one of the largest specimens ever caught. Only fine, because the siphonal canal is a little touched and the upper base has speckles. A dive in the bleach could improve this shell. Impressive and rare size. Reasonable price only because of the quality.
Philippines. Sulu Sea. 10-20 m. Circa 1930.
