Note | Beautiful and dramatic high impact black-patterned shell Remarkable solid and heavy/solid example of this subspecies with a lovely and fantastic pattern complemented by a trace of a semi-blue halo, labral side. The shell features an exquisite dark blotched pattern with perfect extremities, base and margins. The specimen dorsum glows electric red under fluorescent lighting (black light). Taken by Scuba diver at 15-24 meters in a limestone cave nested on a sponge in 11/2023. The venusta was located off Rottnest Island, Western Australia. The shell has micro subnacre blemishes, hidden under the dorsum, unnoticed without scrutiny. Grade: GEM minus. |
