Note | Dark dorsal mottled consueta accentuated by attractive coloring and explosive marginal/base spotting. The fresh collected marginata also displays significant marginal corrugation with pronounced tuberculation of the moderately flared margins on both extremities. The dorsal blotch features coffee/brown colored well-defined dorsal maculae and notable nude/pink color of the lateral wall above the spotted margins. This consueta is a color-classic example of the subspecies. Taken by the legendary Daly Brothers while Scuba diving at 12-18 meters while feeding on a coral ledge Geodia sponge in 12/2023 off Mandurah, Western Australia. The Zoila presents with two small shallow channel-tip edge chips on the posterior extremity, apparent on the upper right image. Grade: F+++. |
