Note | Outstanding and heavy specimen with a moderately spotted pattern not always typical of the species. The shell features diverse pattern arrangements with intermixed cantaloupe and tangerine banding. The color on this specimen is typical of shells from older collections. The cone has a perfect protoconch, spire and body whorl. There is present some roughness on the anterior lip and subtle growth/color folds on the dorsal body whorl. Taken by Scuba diver at 18-20 meters in sandy rubble off St. Rose, RĂ©union Island, Caribbean Sea in 12/1976. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
