| Note | Large specimen of this intertidal/littoral species taken from the Sea of Cortez. Excellent axial spotting, significant gloss, intense lavender aperture, sculptured spiral and axial patching. The specimen features a perfect spire and natural lip. Collected by free diver on sand/rubble substrate at 3-4 meters off Punta Chivato, Baja California, Mexico in 1973. The shell shows a few shallow growth folds on the dorsal and slight erosion on the protoconch. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. NOTE: Shipments for current auction will commence August 7. |
