Note | Large glossy and solid specimen with a whimsical but subtle tented pattern. The exoptanda is one of the more underrated Volute species with promiscuously painted sharply waved fine lines. The specimen shows a thick natural lip, excellent protoconch and spire, superb nacre gloss with beautiful aperture color. Taken by Scuba diver at 15 meters on sand/rubble bottom off Port Lincoln, South Australia in 2018. The shell displays minor palpable roughness of the anterior lip and a notable growth fold of the dorsal area proximal to the lip. Grade: F+++.
