Name | Zoila venusta episema - CLARKSON COLLECTION , Iredale 1939 |

Note | Beautiful and impressive black/blotched/patterned specimen. Remarkable example of this subspecies with a lovely semi-transverse pattern complemented by a semi-blue halo. The shell features perfect extremities, base and margins. The specimen dorsum glows electric neon red under fluorescent lighting. Taken by Scuba diver at 8 meters in a limestone cave on sponges in 12/2020. The venusta was located off Hamelin Bay, Western Australia. No data slip from Clarkson available with this specimen. The shell has micro subnacre glossy dimples, hidden under the dorsum, unnoticed without scrutiny. Grade: GEM minus. |
