Note | Excellent example of an evasive conus species. The specimen displays three strong axial bands, wonderfully distributed fine tenting and strong longitudinal brown lines painted on primary orange hued body whorl, similar to Conus telatus. The shell exhibits a high flawless spire and seamless natural lip. The cone was harvested on sand bottom by Scuba diver at 18-20 meters off Cayo Coco Island, Palawan, Philippines in the mid-1980s. The shell displays some erosion of the apex and a dorsal growth fold proximal to the lip. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
