| Note | Moderately sized and super heavy/solid mappa for its size. Super dark pattern demonstrating superb deep ruby/blood red colored and moderately rostrated extremities. The base is exceptional and accentuated by opalization and a deep lavender porcelain-like border. The shell lights up like a neon Roman candle under black light illumination. This is an exceptional specimen in all aspects. Taken by hookah diver at 20 meters in a small reef pocket in 2/1988 off Bohol, Philippines. The mappa reveals some negligible dorsal blemishes under close inspection. Grade: GEM minus. |
