| Note | Impressive glassy nacred example of this lovely guttata subspecies. This shell has a beautifully distributed and geometrically balanced array of dorsal spotting, not commonly seen. Streamlined form accentuated by pop-out extended teeth/ribbing on the base complementing the rostrated extremities and margins. The extent, thickness and distribution of the stained teeth across the margins on this particular specimen is exquisite. Classic example of form/color and perfection. Trawled at 100-120 meters on rocky/sponge substrate off Mergui Islands, Myanmar in 3/2019. The specimen does not display any visible or palpable deficits. Grade: GEM. |
