Family | Cypraeidae |
Name | Macrocypraea cervus cervus - STRIKING , Linnaeus 1771 |
Size | 127.3 mm |
Locality | Yucatán, Mexico |
Note | Lovely specimen with an even distribution of spotting and a deep glossy nacre that makes it a real eye-catcher. The spots are tightly arranged bright whites focused on the entire dorsum and both lateral walls. The shell features a pronounced lateral line and remarkable form and color. The intensity of the spotting against the dark brown primary hue is nothing short of striking. Captured by Scuba diver at 15-18 meters on a cave wall off northeast Yucatán, Mexico in 2023. Grade: GEM. |
