| Note | Eye-popping visually aesthetic and rad specimen of this unique South Seas subspecies. The distinctly humped dorsum features fine dorsal netting with striking bluish/grey maculae. An intricate reticulated pattern boasts a definitive mid-dorsal mantle line. The margins are boldly thick/prominent with porcelain white hues. Heavily spotted and calloused margins are also highlighted by moderate tuberculation. The flawless base shows excellent gloss and the posterior extremity demonstrates moderate rostration. Collected by Scuba Diver Marty Beals off Taioha'e Bay, Nuku Hiva, Marquesas at 7 meters in 12/2016 on reef wall among diadema urchins on a night dive. Original data slip from Marty included. The specimen presents with some subnacre blemishes on the labral margin and a self-repaired chip toward the ventral anterior extremity tip. Grade: F++/F+++.
