Note | Colossal-sized, inflated and hard to find specimen from the Andaman Sea. Integrated and well distributed light tope symmetrical clear spotting on a camel brown dorsal landscape with a clean wide dorsal line highlighting the visual impact of this shell. Large, high impact specimen from this area with great coloration and nacre gloss. The shell features thick margins and flawless extremities with a cream colored base. Very desirable, significantly large and prominent example of the species. Live taken by Scuba diver in 11/2010 at 58 meters crawling amid debris on the main deck of the sunken ship Haguro in the Malacca Straight, Andaman Sea, Penang, Malaysia. Ex J.D. Daughenbaugh collection. The shell exhibits a small healed/glazed anterior labral extremity chip (white colored) as seen in images. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
