Note | Bigger than normal volute for the species with a strong pattern. Beautiful spotting with super dark/strong color and markings. The white-hued primary body whorl color accentuates the symmetrical dark and striking geometric pattern. The shell shows an intact protoconch and spire. Scuba diver collected near West Palm Beach, Florida, USA in the 80's. There is present a small growth fold on the dorsal spire/axial sculpture with a deep/major body growth disruption/defect on the dorsum and a second smaller fold on the ventral surface. Minor roughness evident on the anterior lip and siphonal notch which both have been shaved on the anterior aspect (filed). Grade: F+. |
