Note | Hard to find and highly sought after South Seas rarity. The smaller/moderate sized specimen features symmetrical morphology and a splendid display of gracefully curved, elongated and wide-spread delicate spines. The shell demonstrates an intact protoconch, spire and strongly orange-hued aperture. Excellent pattern and coloration of the body whorl. Collected by the late, great Scuba diver Paul Kanner on sand between rocks during night dive at 10-12 meters in Taioha'e Bay, Nuku Hiva, Marquesas Islands, Central Pacific in 1/2007. One minor growth fold present on the mid-dorsal body whorl and minor irregularity on one posterior spine tip. Grade: F+++. NOTE: Shipments for current auction will commence August 7. |
