| Note | TESSELLATED…….CORRUGATED…….Here we have an incomparable trifecta of rare features. The dorsum is tessellated, inlaid with a mosaic of uniformly shaped raised tiles, just like a checkerboard. And, for good measure, corrugated from one end to the other. Further enhanced by vivid-pink ends and an unusual pink-brown porcelain to lower margins and base. Please take a few moments to appreciate this masterstroke by Mother Nature, although only in the hand does one truly enjoy the feel of this rare variation. Ultra-mature with a surprising weight-to-size ratio (predictable with these rare Philippine marvels). A unique piece for the mappa enthusiast. Grade: F++/Gem. Provenance: from my own collection.
