Note | A highly unusual specimen of this endemic New Caledonian species, exhibiting atypically pale colour: ultra-delicate pinkish orange. Hypermature, with ultra-recurved siphonal canal. No longer collected, and now very difficult to obtain, coming only from choice old collections. Data: Passe de Dumbéa, off Dumbéa, Nouméa, South Province, Grande Terre, New Caledonia; upon fine coral sand/rubble substrate, near reef, at night; 50-60 m; dived; 1990s. Size: 48.6 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
