Note | A nice and very rare ORANGE specimen of the only pectinid species found in northern Chile: Argopecten purpuratus. This specimen was collected in 5-8 m depth on sand by a commercial diver. Orange Argopecten purpuratus are rare, as most of them have purple, pink, or brown coloration, and one in thousands have this nice deep orange color.
