Note | One very nice specimen of the rare deep water Tudiclidae Aeneator castillai, a species endemic to a small geographical area in deep waters off central Chile. This specimen was live-collected in shrimp trawls at 400-420 m depth off Quintero, central Chile. These species are usually found very eroded, with broken lips and many scars, as they live in an area with intense trawling. The specimen preserves its original operculum and it is in very good condition for the species. A hard to obtain deep water mollusk from the southeastern Pacific. |
