| Note | A unique and rare Eastern Pacific species collected in an unusual area of California. The shell shows a heavy weight/size ratio, superb axial sculpturing and porcelain white aperture. The white body whorl color is accentuated by a pinkish spire. Captured by Scuba diver Paul Kanner on the Hyperion Plant Pipeline at 30 meters off El Segundo, California in 1/2002. The specimen shows several drill holes on the spire, eroded protoconch and wear on the flattened spines associated with elevated spiral/axial ridges. Grade: F+/F++. |
