Large specimen with a superb display of radially distinct expanding spines. The aperture and ventral flange area are porcelainized and china-white. Heavy shell for its size and getting harder to obtain in today's specimen shell market. The large specimen was trawled at 350 meters on sand/mud substrate of Alboran Island in the Mediterranean Sea south of Spain in 4/2013. The shell has a nicked protoconch and one eroded and self-repaired spine. Grade: F+++.
