NoteA superb, large specimen of this beautiful, pale form. PERFECTION. White ground, tinged greyish on the body whorl, decorated with spiral bands of large, roughly rectangular caramel maculations. Note: At some point in history, an error with regards the name was made, which has been perpetuated, referring to ‘magnita’, whereas the correct name is ‘agnitum’, (see Iredale’s original description). Data: Off Tabalong, Dauis, Panglao, Visayas, Bohol, Philippines; upon sand/rubble substrate; 20-30 m; dived; 2023. Size: 78.7 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
