Note | Two very nice, selected, and colorful specimens of Arbacia nigra (formerly known as Tetrapygus niger), an endemic urchin of Chile and PerĂº. These are only the test (skeleton), without spines, from specimens washed ashore at a beach in northern Chile. These tests are the skeletal structure of the sea urchins and in living specimens they contain their soft parts and support their spines. They are very colorful and a nice natural history item, a colorful urchin test perfect for your Natural History Cabinet or Wunderkammer. |
