For a few decades now, even non-collecting wealthy families in China have been happy to have one or more of these giants in their living rooms. From the collection of Conchology, Inc. this Philippine rumphii is of great beauty and as perfect as this species is in the Philippines, which is much better compared to elsewhere. This piece has two barely visible growth flaws and a chip on the top slit, and the end, not much harm. The color is stabilized. This is the refined elegant yellow form of Balut, has nothing to do with the much rougher pieces from the South China Sea.
