For a few decades now, even non-collecting wealthy families in China have been happy to have one or more of these giants in their living rooms. From the collection of Conchology, Inc. this Philippine rumphii is of great beauty and as perfect as this species is in the Philippines, which is much better compared to elsewhere. This piece is practically GEM, extremely rare in this species and this size. It has barely visible elongated chips in the center of the slit. Does not detract from the beauty. Gem rumphii of this size are virtually unseen. The color is stabilized. With operculum. This is the refined elegant yellow form of Balut, has nothing to do with the much rougher pieces from the South China Sea. Minimal damage to the slit. Visible through the white absorbent cotton. Does not affect the beauty at all. Therefore the classification with F+++.
