F+++. A beautiful Melo broderipii of Japanese style, where the “empty space” is important for the beauty. But what makes this shell exceptional is the slightly pink base color, instead of orange. A very rare phenomenon, but one that also occurs in some other volutes. I have added another beautiful but classic young M. broderipii to this particular broderipii to demonstrate the immense difference in coloration.
