| Note | F+++/GEM. A POSSIBLE VALID SPECIES FROM THE PENGHU ISLANDS. But is now considered a subspecies of rupestris. In my opinion this is not very justified, and the differences to rupestris from mainland Taiwan are considerable. However, the shells differ from those of the mainland Rupestris: they are small, rarely over 80 mm long, rather fusiform, smooth and with a smaller protoconch than the typical Rupestris. Their distribution area is limited to the Penghu Islands, which are slightly off the central east coast of Taiwan. It is actually a common species, but rarely offered to collectors. Very rarely found in collections.
