| Note | Superb, large, deep water and attractive volute with desirable axial longitudinal pin-striping. Beautiful shades of fire brick/coral red blotching coral/ red primary hues with coral orange axial flammule banding. The specimen is moderately heavy, solid with perfect nodules on the shoulder. The shell shows a perfect protoconch, spire and excellent nacre gloss and an amazing thick lip. Captured by fishermen using tangle nets off Tongkil Island, Sulu Sea, southern Philippines at 80-100 meters circa 2016. The shell demonstrates a trail of small shallow micro-pinholes on the dorsum shoulder and modest delamination of the exterior lip nacre with slight nacre wear present mid-dorsum. Grade: F++/ F+++. |
