Family | Cypraeidae |
Name | Zoila jeaniana sherlyae - SHINING STAR , Raybaudi 1990 |
Size | 72.5 mm |

Note | Splendid, mature, heavy and impressive jeaniana/sheryae with desirable markings and deep blue/grey primary dorsal coloration complemented by large lateral wall spotting. The jeaniana shows a thick hyper-glossy nacre like polished crystal with a gorgeous dorsum and extremities, a shining star specimen. The shell is highlighted by moderate rostration, strong marginal tuberculation and glazed deep brown base. It shows a moderate/heavy weight/size ratio with a wonderful distribution of dorsal dark brown maculae and spots. Collected with skill by diver Andrew Edinger at 36 meters on a blue Spirastrella sponge off Point Quobba, Western Australia circa 2020. The Zoila is a beauty and displays one glazed-over sand inclusion on the posterior columellar ramp. Grade: GEM minus. |
