| Note | High glossy nacre, large and moderately inflated armenica with an admirable wide and expanded golden dorsal blotch. The specimen displays an immaculate crisp and dotted end to end dorsal line, with moderate to intense shades of pastel orange and strong tangerine hues. The shell displays perfect and strong flesh-toned/burnt orange extremities. These specimens are rarely collected today after Australian restrictions were imposed beginning with the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Trawled at 100-120 meters on sand and rubble bottom in the Great Australian Bight, off Port Lincoln, South Australia in 1998. The shell reveals a few subtle and negligible blemishes. Grade: GEM minus. |
