| Note | Handsome example of Umbilia, with distinctive apricot/orange dorsal botch, thick glossy nacre and perfect extremities that are highlighted by darker hues. The shell is heavy for its size and shows remarkable form and a subtle mantle line mirrored by a distinct row a small dots. The shell is wonderfully inflated and strongly rostrate. Trawled at 130-150 meters off the western Great Australian Bight, Eucla, Western Australia. There is a mini nacre wobble on the posterior ramp and small glazed convexity on the columellar lateral wall. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
