Note | Superb combination of transitional dark/light mahogany hues accentuate the valve base color with fabulous purple/violet spines adorning both valves. Excellent brown colored ribs and radial grooves with an intact, but unhinged, ligament. Valve halves are movable. The oyster shows excellent margins and heavy purple marginal pigmentation. The shell was harvested by Scuba diver Paul Kanner using Scuba at 10-30 meters either attached to rock/rubble or dead shell substrate off Isla Carmen, Loreto, Baja California Sur, Mexico in 1992. The shell displays a few (3) separated, of many, spathate spine tips and a clean, snow-white, umbo. NOTE: An additional 5€ will apply to Shipping costs for this specimen. Grade: F+++. |
