Collected by ROV from 195
metres of at Leeman in Western Australia in August 2024. A
rare sighting in this area. The barnacle has obviously
fallen off a humpback whale
on it's travels from Antarctica.
I suspect that the antarctic
barnacle could not tolerate
the higher water
temperatures, died and fell
off for us to find. A true rarity.
