| Note | One very nice, colorful, and large specimen of Arbacia nigra (formerly known as Tetrapygus niger), an endemic urchin of Chile and Perú. This is only the test (skeleton), without spines, from a specimen washed ashore at a beach in northern Chile. These tests are the skeletal structure of the sea urchins and in living specimens they contain their soft parts and support their spines. They are very colorful and a nice natural history item; this specimen in particular is quite large and outstanding specimen. A colorful urchin test perfect for your Natural History Cabinet or Wunderkammer. |
