| Note | PREMIUM SPECIMEN: At virtually 50 mm this incredible and famous GIANT is one of the LARGEST and FINEST known specimens of the Marquesan form of this exquisite species. Of exceedingly large size, approaching the limit for the species. Ultra-rich colour. Dense and intricate pattern, formed with the utmost regularity and clarity. Hypermature, with incredible weight to size ratio. PERFECTION, including retention of the exceedingly delicate protoconch. The Marquesan form is the most spectacular incarnation of the species, producing the largest, most richly coloured and beautifully patterned examples. Acquired for the JES Collection many years ago at the substantial price of €2,750, and now offered at a €1 start for the benefit of one extremely fortunate winning bidder. Rarely do I urge acquisition, but if the highest expression for this species is desired, then this is the specimen to purchase. An extremely rare opportunity for a Conidae connoisseur to add one of the world’s great specimens to their holdings.
