Note | The LAST and BEST mus of the JES Collection, this magnificent specimen of the Venezuelan form exhibits exceedingly rich, saturated colour, and a truly spectacular dorsal pattern, incorporating a well-delineated mantle line in honey gold, amongst an abundance of ultra-dark chocolate, confluent maculae. Exceptional quality – PERFECTION – including exemplary preservation of the ultra-delicate flanges flanking the anterior terminal. A rare mus for the Cypraeidae connoisseur. Data: Amuay Bay, Paraguana Peninsula, Falcón State, Venezuela; upon sand/rubble substrate, amongst sea grass, (Caribbean turtlegrass; Thalassia testudinum), and shell bed; 3-5 m; dived; 2010.
