Item | # 0003475342 | Family | Patellidae | Name | Scurria parasitica - Very Nice, selected , (A. d'Orbigny, 1841) |
Size | 17.9 and 15.7 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | Two very nice specimens of Scurria parasitica. This species lives exclusivelly onto the shells of large Fissurella and Chitonidae species and it is endemic of PerĂº and Chile. These particular specimens are selected, they have excellent interior of the shells with no boring marks or damages, excellent borders and a very good dorsum of the shell, with minimal erosion and which shows the color pattern of alternating rays, as it can be seen in the images. Usually these species have either dorsums covered with calcareous algae or very eroded dorsums. These are the best for the species. A low price for an interesting lot of uncommon limpets. |
