Found off Jacksonville (sacllop boats, deep water). Our father bought this shell dureing a holiday on Sanibel Island from Al Deynzer who at the time ran the best shell shops in town. The shell as on display but not for sale. According to our father, only after the fifth visit he managed to get a deal with Al. This is not a perfect but a unique shell because of its enormous size. With its age it is a real Methusalem and for this its size, weight and quality are really good. It might not be for those collectors looking for perfection but for cone collectors who appreciate a unique pice in their collection, this is a one time opportunity. |
