Family | Spondylidae |
Name | Spondylus victoriae - RARE PEACH COLOURATION! , G. B. Sowerby II, 1860 |
Size | 131.22 mm |
Locality | Dampier Archipelago, W.A. |
Note | Here we have a SUPER RARE colour form of this variable species. Typically a pink or mostly white colour; this MAGNIFICENT shell has a soft pink colour on its valves and a PEACH COLOUR on its ELONGATED SPINES. I have left the rock on which it was growing attached as it adds character but can of course be easily removed. Great quality with only a couple of small spines damaged and some small worm holes at the base of the bottom valve but this does not detract from the beauty in any way. Live taken in garden bed bottom at 18m. Dampier Archipelago W.A. September 2024 *White marks are from camera reflection. Please ask about additional images* |
