Item | # 0003505707 |
Family | Fissurellidae |
Name | Fissurella peruviana - Very Nice, Selected , Lamarck, 1822 |
Size | 19.8 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | One very nice exceptional specimen of Fissurella peruviana, the smallest Fissurella species found in Chile. This is a rather uncommon species and it is very distinctive as it has a small foramen and a very arched and concave shell, which distinguishes it from all the other large Fissurella species found in the area. This particular specimen is in excelent condition for the species and in its natural condition, being found washed ashore fresh dead among rocks. It has a very nice interior of shell and the border is perfect. The dorsum very clean and nice. A low price for an interesting species. |
