Item | # 0003505713 |
Family | Fissurellidae |
Name | Fissurella crassa - Very Nice, Selected , Lamarck, 1822 |
Size | 59.7 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | One very nice and selected specimen of Fissurella crassa. Large Fissurella species are actively collected by fishermen, so they often have nicks and damages on the border of the lip, and they are always found with scurria scars on the shells. This particular specimen has a perfect lip with no chips, and a dorsum with no Scurria scars or other damages (as can be seen in the images), and a perfect interior with no boring holes or other damage. This specimen shell can be further oiled to make the caramel color of the dorsum more vivid, but I prefer to keep them in their natural condition. A low initial price for a very nice specimen of Fissurella crassa. |
