NoteZoila Venusta Episema f. Grisea (Raybaudi, 1990) - Rarely ever offered - RARE Here we have on offer an extremely rare throw off and superb quality specimen, being a Venusta Episema form Grisea(Raybaudi, 1990). Few of you may know of the these shallow water population of the extremely RARE Venusta Episema f.Grisea from Mandurah, Western Australia, but these have a uniformly unspotted beige to grey dorsum and base. Rarely found today in any numbers, this form was first published in 1990 as a form name) "The connoisseur of Seashells" 23 :27, fig.283).Such shells are rare, occurring only within certain shallow water populations of smallish dark shelled Venustas off the coast of Mandurah . They are considered to be a localised aberration. This specimen graded F+++ 57mm for the reason only of a very soft growth line exactly along mantle line on the dorsum (where the two mantles meet).This specimen also has a unique slightly darker beige 7mm wide banding on the dorsum at the anterior end, which extends from one marginal frame to the other. Otherwise of Gem quality. Z 1555 . More photos available on request.
