Note | Two nice and selected specimens of the common little mytilid Perumytilus purpuratus. These specimen were collected washed ashore fresh dead in a rocky beach at northern Chile. The specimens has a nice shiny purple and white interior of the shell, and the exterior of the shell is in the very nice condition for the species, with a bit of erosion only, but showing the nice sculpture of the valves and the periostracum. A low price for an interesting shallow water mytilid. |
