Item | # 0003513298 |
Family | Mytilidae |
Name | Semimytilus patagonicus - Very Nice, Selected , (Hanley, 1843) |
Size | 62 and 43 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | Two very nice specimens of the subtidal mytilid Semimytilus patagonicus. This species is seldom found in northern Chile, being apparently more abundant in souther Chile and Magellanic waters. These specimens are in excellent condition, with both valves with no damages and retaining its periostracum. A low initial price for an interesting bivalve from the southern seas. |
