| Note | 120 g of selected coarse shell grit collected from swash lines at Calderilla, commune of Caldera, northern Chile. This shell grit contains many micromolluscs, some of them very uncommon and rare. I have found in this particular location (and from the same shell grit) specimens of the next species: Perumytilus purpuratus, Brachidontes granulatus, Echinolittorina peruviana, Austrolittorina araucana, Lasaea sp., Malvinasia sp, Kurtiella compressa, Fissurella peruviana, Protothaca thaca, Eurhomalea sp, Cerithiopsis eiseni, Liotia cancellata, Onoba sp, Rissoina inca, Agathothoma ordinaria, Siphonaria lessoni, Siphonaria sp (Kerguelenella?), Lottia orbigny, Tegula tridentata, Alia sp, several species of Scurria, fragments of cirripedians, chitons, juveniles, spines and fragments of sea urchins, etc, among many other species. This is an opportunity to have a representative sample of most shallow water species found in northern Chile. The lot includes 150 grams of shell grit. |
